These Three Rooms

A new addition to the KBB magazine brand, I launched its sister website thesethreerooms.com. This included project managing the branding, design, content strategy, marketing and content delivery and, once live, I continued to manage all content and campaigns. Read more about it all below…

Going digital

More than a ‘magazine website’ – that’s what this new site had to be. So thesethreerooms.com was conceived as a new market offering: a blog-style platform where the team behind the magazine (myself included) share expertise via daily home design articles with more of a personal touch, building a community around the topics of home renovations and interior design.

I managed the conceptualisation and launch of thesethreerooms.com, including branding and audience profiling, design, content strategy, tone of voice, cross-platform marketing and planning and delivery of all multimedia content alongside a SEO and social media strategies.

Within its first two years, the new site organically attracted tens of thousands of unique monthly users with high article engagement, reached a new audience and achieved page one, and in some cases rank one, on Google search for kitchen, bedroom and bathroom design topics.

Through the careful analysis and management of the site, I was able to adapt the content strategy and schedule to best suit the needs of the visiting audience, as well as develop and launch campaigns to attract new users, such as the Close To Home initiative and the Project Planner microsite, plus a lockdown webinar series, The Kitchen Sessions

Launched during the pandemic in 2020, the Close To Home initiative aimed to encourage consumers to look to their local small interior design studios to help with their projects. It championed the UK’s independent kitchen, bedroom and bathroom retailers and highlighted the benefits of hiring them. The Project Planner microsite came shortly after and did what it says on the tin – helped people plan their projects. The content strategy was developed to advise on all stages of planning a renovation, including hiring professionals and budgeting, for example, and included a free downloadable pack of trackers, planners and an ebook to further engage the audience and drive the gathering of rich data. Packed to the rafters with consumer-focused content that kept people coming back for more.
